The Warrn Slack app gives responders a focused view of active work and adds actions directly to alert and incident messages.

Warrn App Home

Open Warrn from Slack’s Apps section. After you link your account, Home shows:
  • Active incidents, with incidents you command prioritized.
  • Open alerts that need attention.
  • An action to declare an incident.
  • An Acknowledge action for open alerts.
  • Links to the full incident, alert, and Warrn dashboard views.
  • A shortcut reference and account-disconnect control.
If the workspace is not connected, Home directs a workspace admin to Warrn’s integration settings. If your Slack identity is not linked, Home gives you a link to connect it to your Warrn user.

Alert notifications

Alert cards show the alert name, severity, status, service, source, description, and how long the alert has been open. Depending on the alert’s state, the card provides:
  • Acknowledge to indicate that someone is investigating.
  • Resolve to close the alert.
  • Create incident to open a declaration form with the alert details pre-filled.
After an action succeeds, Warrn posts the result in the message thread and refreshes the alert card to remove actions that no longer apply.

Incident channels

Warrn can create and associate a Slack channel when an incident is declared. The channel becomes the shared Slack context for the incident, so Warrn can resolve commands and assistant requests without asking for an incident identifier. Incident cards can provide:
  • Join call when the incident has a war room. Opening the call also asks Warrn Scribe to join.
  • Post update to publish an incident update and optionally change status or severity.
  • Change status.
  • Assign commander.
  • Add responder.
  • Open in Warrn for the complete incident view.
Policy reminders can also include actions to post an update, change status, resolve or reopen an incident, open the postmortem, or stop automatic Slack channel archival.

Use an existing Slack thread

Mention Warrn inside a thread when an operational discussion should become part of the incident record.

Start a live response

Warrn summarizes the available context and presents a proposal for approval. A live declaration runs the organization’s configured incident workflows.

Import a past incident

Warrn opens an import form with the source thread details. A historical import preserves the thread’s conversation, participants, files, and timestamps. It does not announce a new live incident or retroactively create an incident channel.

Attach context to an existing incident

Warrn opens an incident picker with the named incident preselected when it can find an exact match. Review the destination and optional note before attaching the thread.

Visibility

  • Slash command forms and most command results are ephemeral and visible only to the person who invoked them.
  • Assistant replies to an @Warrn mention stay in the channel thread.
  • Assistant-panel conversations remain in Slack’s private assistant interface.
  • Incident declarations, alert actions, status updates, and other accepted writes produce the normal shared Warrn notifications or timeline events.
